Neil was appointed Editor of Shropshire Magazine in 2008. He has been a journalist for more than 30 years and is a former assistant news editor, business editor and sports news editor of the Shropshire Star. He enjoys the theatre, dining out and reading historical biographies and is involved in local charity work. A keen all-round sportsman, he is a qualified junior football coach. He and wife Vanessa have three sons.
Shirley Tart
Associate Editor
Shirley Tart MBE has been Associate Editor of the Shropshire Magazine since June 2002. She is Royal Correspondent for both the magazine and the Shropshire Star. For many years, she was woman’s editor then assistant editor of the Shropshire Star followed by a spell as assistant editor at the Express & Star, Wolverhampton. Shirley lives in Shropshire, actively supports many charities and is also a Deputy Lieutenant of the county.
Louise Acton
Social Columnist
Louise’s social diary covers parties and people in Shropshire and further afield. After reading History at Bristol she began her career in London with Saatchi & Saatchi and travelled widely before moving to Acton Scott in Shropshire. She now lives with her daughter Florence Acton at Cronkhill, a Grade I Italianate villa designed by John Nash. Louise has many interests but most of all she enjoys the company of good friends and family.
Gail Williams
Advertisement manager
Gail joined the Shropshire Magazine in 2006 as Advertisement Manager, after more than 20 years experience of working on Shropshire’s daily and weekly newspapers. During that time, she was also involved in the launch of many of its specialist publications and has a wealth of knowledge in many aspects of sales and marketing. Gail is married with two sons.
Caroline Chamberlain
Sales Executive
Caroline has been with MNA Media Group since 2001 as a display sales representative, firstly joining our Bridgnorth office to work on the Shropshire Star and Bridgnorth Journal. Caroline joined the Shropshire Magazine team as a sales executive in August 2006, covering the Shropshire area and beyond. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge from her previous sales and marketing background. Caroline is married with one son.
Tom Graham
General Manager
Tom was appointed General Manager of MNA Magazines (Shropshire Magazine and Wolverhampton Magazine) in 2011. After training as a reporter with the MNA in 2006, Tom embarked on a four year work programme to gain experience with other media companies before returning to the MNA full-time in 2010. In his time away, Tom worked for organisations including the Press Association and IPC Media (both in London), the Kent Messenger Group, and more recently the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia. Tom’s interests include travel, food and wine, fishing and flying.
