The face that launched a thousand fantasies is no longer seen on stage . . . so Neil Thomas wasn’t going to miss the chance to meet its owner when she visited Shropshire.

She was tempted out of retirement for personal reasons – her young second cousin Freddie had become critically ill as a student at Shrewsbury School, and was saved by Birmingham Children’s Hospital. As a thank-you, and to help raise funds for the specialist centre, Fiona hosted an evening of music and poetry at the magnificent Stokesay Court in south Shropshire.
