Henry Carpenter, second from left, accepts the Midlands Magazine of the Year award – for the third year in a row.
The Shropshire Magazine scored a hat-trick of victories in November as it scooped the Midlands Magazine of the Year award for the third year in a row.
The monthly glossy, which is produced at the Shropshire Star’s headquarters in Telford, was one of the big winners at the prestigious Midlands Media Awards in Birmingham held by Birmingham Press Club.
It beat off competition from titles right across the Midlands.
Editor Henry Carpenter collected the prize money from a representative of award sponsor East Midlands Airport in front of more than 200 senior figures from the local media sector at Baskerville House in the centre of Birmingham.
He said: “It was great news for the Shropshire Magazine to win for a third year in a row. It really is a team effort and while I was delighted to collect the award, I was just representing a hard-working and talented team.
“But the magazine has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. It is steadily growing in size; we like to think the editorial content and quality of advertisements are getting better and better and the calibre of printing is very high – we are over the moon that this has been recognised.”
